Winter Party to be held at Senior Center - A Winter Party and a game of “This is Your Life” will be held on January 15 at 5:45 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center. Discover who it will be by asking questions to someone behind a screen.  Try and guess and you win. Have your Bucket List ready, too. A chicken fettucini alfredo dinner will be served before the party from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those 60 and older eat for a suggested donation of $3.50. Those under 60 can eat for a cost of $5.50. Food Pantry meeting to be held - The Crawford County Community Christian Help Center Food Pantry will be holding its annual board meeting at 9 a.m. on  Monday, January 21, at the Nature Center, located at 100 S. James Street. The meeting is open to the public.
Learn more about growing vegetables - Do you want to learn more about growing your own vegetables? Would you like to learn techniques that are smart for the environment and your pocketbook? The MSU Extension Smart Gardening with Vegetables 101 Webinar 6 Week Series is designed specifically for introductory and beginning vegetable gardeners. Attend the live sessions, watching the webinar on the big screen and participating in the discussion following the webinar. The sessions will be from 6-7 p.m. every Tuesday evening starting January 22 and running through February 26. The online webinar will be shown each week at Munson Grayling Hospital in the Crawford Room located behind the hospital. Veteran’s Action Team to meet - The Veteran’s Community Action Team, partnering with the Crawford County Veteran Service Office, will be hosting a VA Healthcare Enrollment Workshop on January 15 at the Veteran’s Service Office in Grayling (501 Norway Street across from Goodale’s Bakery). Veterans will have access to service counselors and VA employees to answer questions. Workshop hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans planning to enroll that day need to bring proof of last year’s income (2017 or 2018) and DD214 (discharge certificate). Snacks and refreshments will be provided. If you have questions, or would like to reserve a seat, RSVP to (989) 344-3861.
Chair Yoga is expanding - Chair Yoga is expanding at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center. Instead of just once a month Chair Yoga will be offered three times a month. You can now sit to get fit on the third and fourth Thursday at 6 p.m. starting January 17. Chair Yoga aims to give you the experience of classical yoga, even if you have mobility issues or find regular yoga challenging. Join Certified Yoga Instructors Nicole Wethington and Dianne South and enjoy the many benefits of yoga without sitting or lying on the floor. This class is free and open to the public.
