Create A Limerick class offered - The AuSable Artisan Village will conduct “Create A Limerick For St. Paddy’s Day,” a class for adults taught by Cathy Lester, on Saturday, March 14, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $10. Lester will review the essential elements of limericks (five-line poems) and then participants will have fun creating their own comic verses. All needed materials will be supplied. State rep to conduct local office hours - Rep. Daire Rendon of Lake City will conduct local office hours on Friday, March 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Goodale’s Bakery (500 Norway Street). Residents may also contact Rep. Rendon at her Lansing office at (517) 373-3817 or DaireRendon@house.mi.gov.
 
Senior Center to host St. Patrick’s dinner - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner on Thursday, March 12, from 4-6 p.m. Dinner will include corned beef & cabbage, parsley boiled potatoes, ginger & brown sugar glazed carrots, green Irish fluff, and chocolate mint crème pie. The suggested donation for seniors 60 and over is $3.50. The price for those under 60 is $5.75. Dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. GHS Players to present ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ - The Grayling High School Players will present “Little Shop of Horrors” on March 6 and 7 at 6:30 p.m. and March 8 at 2 p.m. at the school’s Joseph Stripe Auditorium. Tickets are available at Tip ‘n the Mitten in downtown Grayling. Ticket prices are $10 per adult or $5 for students and senior citizens. The show is rated PG-13. 
 
Support group offered for those with vision loss - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will be hosting a monthly support group for adults with vision loss. This support group is designed to provide emotional support, helpful information, and practical solutions for those dealing with vision loss.  Meetings will take place the second Monday of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. There is no charge to attend this group. 
 
Scrabblers group to meet on Thursdays - A weekly Scrabblers group every Thursday at 10 a.m. is starting March 12 at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center. No experience is necessary and it is free to watch or play.  
 
Coffee hour for veterans to be held - The Crawford County Veteran’s Service Office will be hosting a coffee hour on the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting will take place at the American Legion Post #106 in Grayling on March 12 from 9-10 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided free of charge. This is an event for veterans to meet and talk with each other. It will be held in a social setting with no formal speeches or agenda. All veterans are welcome whether they served in peacetime or wartime. For more information, contact the Veteran’s Service Office at (989) 344-3861.
 
American Legion Auxiliary to meet - The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Tuesday, March 10. The group meets once a month on the second Tuesday of each month.
