St. Patrick’s Day Dinner to be held - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will host a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner on Thursday, March 15, from 4-6 p.m. Dinner will include corned beef and cabbage, boiled potatoes, carrot coins with garlic butter, Irish fluff, and mint brownies. The suggested donation for seniors 60 and over is $3. The price for those under 60 is $5. Dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. March Against Hunger event begins - During the months of March and April, for March Against Hunger, people can “Buy a Boot Print” at The Medicine Shoppe or Goodale’s Bakery for $1. Money raised will go to Michigan families in need. Donations mailed or brought in to the Help Center will earn an extra 10 percent from the Food Bank. Please make checks out to FBEM. They can be mailed to Christian Help Center, P.O. Box 1115, Grayling.
Lovells Satellite Meal to be held - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, March 16, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes chicken cordon bleu, mashed potatoes, green beans, and peaches. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure and sugar checks and Bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. The Lovells Township Building is located at 8405 Twin Bridge Road.
Volunteers needed for Meals on Wheels - The Crawford County Commission on Aging is seeking volunteer drivers for its Meals on Wheels Program. This program provides meals to older adults who are unable to prepare meals or have meals otherwise provided. Drivers are needed to deliver meals one day a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. You will need to pass a criminal history background check, have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle with current insurance coverage, and be able to lift heavy bags. Photographic Society to meet - The Grayling Photographic Society will conduct its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the Grayling Middle School Media Center. The meeting will include a presentation of how to do “Focus Stacking” using a DSLR camera and Photoshop software. The public is invited. Please enter through the Main Entrance.
