Live concert to be held at Senior Center - The community is invited to attend a live concert with Daniel House on Thursday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. House is a local musician and veteran of several appearances in Grayling and the Senior Center. There is no charge for the concert and everyone is welcome to attend. Event will include a stuffed peppers dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those 60 and over dinner is a suggested $3 donation and those under 60 the cost of dinner is $5. Bake Sale to benefit local United Way - Crawford County United Way will be holding a bake sale in the lobby of Save-A-Lot in Grayling on Saturday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help boost its annual LIVE UNITED Community Service Award Scholarship for a graduating Grayling High School senior. Applications are available from the high school counseling office.
 
Senior Center to host diabetes presentation - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will host a free Munson breakfast presentation on Tuesday, March 20, at 9 a.m. The topic will be “Diabetes: Are You at Risk?” featuring Tina Fluegel, BSN, Diabetes Educator, Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital. The American Diabetes Association Alert Day encourages everyone to “take the test,” one of three simple blood tests to determine if you have prediabetes. Learn more about the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test and steps you can take to lower your risk for Type 2 Diabetes. Breakfast includes omelets to order, golden hash browns, muffins, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. The breakfast and presentation will be held at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center, 308 Lawndale Street. For more information call (989) 348-7123. 
 
United Way to hold annual meeting - Crawford County United Way will be holding its Annual Meeting on Monday, March 19, at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the Devereaux Memorial Crawford County Library, 201 Plum Street in Grayling. Blood Drive to be held on March 20 - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program are hosting a Michigan Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Attempt to donate and be entered for a chance to win a two-night stay in a Family Suite with water park passes compliments of Great Wolf Lodge. Appointments are preferred by contacting 1-866-MIBLOOD (642-5663) or miblood.org. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
