Presentation offers help with Medicare - Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on Wednesday, March 25, at 9:30 a.m. for a presentation that will help demystify issues surrounding Medicare. Tammy Findlay, Advocacy & Resource Coordinator, and volunteer Medicare/Medicaid counselors will discuss the various parts of Medicare including what is covered or not covered, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plans, and how Medicare recipients who have low income can get assistance paying for Prescription Drug Plans and the Medicare Part B premium.
Senior Center to host painting party - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center along with Jennifer Thompson from That One Place is hosting a painting party to paint a two-foot pallet-wood carrot sign. No experience is required. This event will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. This event is $30 per person and includes all the supplies/materials you will need to paint your work of art. Registration and payment should be made at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center by March 24 to reserve a spot. COA to conduct Salon Outing - Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will conduct a Salon Outing to Kirtland Community College on April 14. The trip includes transportation and three cosmetology services of your choosing. Participants can choose from items such as a shampoo & haircut, manicure, and hair removal. All work at the Kirtland Academy of Cosmetology is performed by students. The cost of the trip is $10 per person. Registration and payment are required by April 7. Grow Your Knowledge Session to be held - Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on March 27 at 9 a.m. for a Grow Your Knowledge Session. The event will be video conferencing with the Smithsonian American Art Museum to learn more about the civil war, the following reconstruction period, and its impact on American art. After the educational video session, there will be doughnuts and discussion of the topic. Cost to participate is $5.
Addiction Support Group meets twice a week - An Addiction Support Group (“A Safe Place to Talk with People Willing to Listen”) will meet on Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Grayling Baptist Church (705 Madsen Street).
