Senior Center to host ‘Price is Right’ Party - The public is invited to “Come on Down” to the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center on Tuesday, April 17, at 6 p.m. for a “Price is Right” Party. Enjoy an evening of fun and excitement where there will be lots of prizes to win, everyone gets to participate, and refreshments and dessert will be served. Matt LaFontaine Automotive, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Burger King helped sponsor the evening. Come early for a pork roast dinner served from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $5 for those under 60 and a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over. Walk to raise money for sexual assault victims - River House will present its annual 5280 “Hops and Heels” – an event that asks men to walk 5,280 feet (one mile) “in her shoes” to support victims of sexual assault – on Friday, April 13, at 4:30 p.m. River House will provide heels, or walkers may bring their own. This year’s walk will be a pub-crawl through Grayling; it will start at the American Legion, go to Spike’s, Rolling Oak, and Paddle Hard, and finish at the American Legion. Costumes for participants are optional. Suggested donation is $25 per person. Participants will also raise money through pledges. There will be prizes for Best Dressed and Most Money Raised. League of Women Voters to meet - The League of Women Voters Crawford County Unit will meet on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Nature Center (next to the American Legion). The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Artisan Village to host free concert - Dharma Records USA and the Artisan Village will present an evening of entertainment with “The Michigan Man” Mike Ridley on Wednesday, April 18, from 7-9 p.m. The Artisan Village is located at 219 Michigan Avenue. Lovells Satellite Meal to be held - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, April 20, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes prime rib, red skin potato, Brussels sprouts, and a fresh apple. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Advance Care Planning is focus of presentation - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will host a free breakfast presentation on Tuesday, April 17, at 9 a.m. The topic will be Advance Care Planning & Advance Directives featuring Steve Peterson, Community Health Specialist from Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital, Resource Coordination Department. Advance Care Planning focuses on learning about the types of decisions you might need to make if a medical crisis occurs. Breakfast includes an omelet station, hash browns, muffins, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. The breakfast and presentation will be held at the Senior Center, 308 Lawndale Street.
