Walk With Ease program to start in May - MSU Extension will present Walk With Ease, a six-week evidence-based program that includes tips on safe walking indoors, discussion on osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia, how to manage pain and stiffness, and stretching and strengthening exercises. You will also learn tips on proper clothing and equipment, how to monitor physical problems, what to do when exercise hurts, and how to anticipate and overcome barriers. The class will be held 9-10 a.m. on Wednesdays, May 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, and 13, at Grayling City Hall, 1020 Boulevard. There is no cost for this program, which is sponsored by the Crawford County Commission on Aging. Call to register at (989) 348-7123.  
Beaver Creek to host master plan public forum - Beaver Creek Township will conduct a public forum “Planning for Our Future” on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at Beaver Creek Township Hall (8888 S. Grayling Road). The Township Planning Commission and Township Board are seeking input from residents, businesses, and community leaders to help guide development of an updated master plan. Join COA for La Dia De la Madre event - Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center on Thursday, May 3, at 6 p.m. and discover how Mexican children honor their moms on La Dia De la Madre. Find out what they do to tell her she’s special. Finish the evening with the traditions of the USA along with dessert and a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Michaywe (choice of Inn the Woods at Michaywe, Michaywe Pines Golf Course or Schneider’s Pub). Come early for a beef enchilada dinner served from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $5 for those under 60 and a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over. Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for Relay for Life - Crawford County Relay for Life “Families Against Cancer Team” is sponsoring a Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser at the Grayling American Legion Lanes on Saturday, May 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $20 per person (includes lane and shoe rental).
