Mother’s Day Dinner set for May 9 - As the nation prepares to observe Mother’s Day by showering Moms with love and praise, it is a perfect opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate together at the Mother’s Day Dinner on Thursday, May 9, from 4-6 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging. Menu includes beef pot roast, garden vegetables, baby carrots, roll, fresh fruit salad, and coconut strawberry cake. Dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. The meal is a cost of $5.50 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 and over. The Commission on Aging & Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street. Poppy Sale to be held in Grayling - The VFW Poppy Sale will be held in Grayling on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale helps local veterans.
Out To Lunch Bunch shopping trip available - Mark your calendar for the next Out To Lunch Bunch trip, which is May 10. The trip includes lunch (self-pay) at a different restaurant around Gaylord each month and a trip to the Walmart Plaza for shopping. The cost of the trip is $10 per person. Bus (CCTA) will leave Grayling at 10:30 a.m. Lunch in Gaylord will be around 11:30 a.m. Shopping will be from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 2/2:30 p.m. The passengers will choose a different restaurant for the next month’s trip. The bus will be parked in the Walmart lot so if you are done shopping early, you can get back on the bus. The bus will be picking up passengers at the Grayling Mini Mall at 10:30 a.m. Park your vehicle on the south side of the car wash and wait in the car for the bus to arrive. The bus will then travel to Frederic and pick up people at the Frederic Township Hall between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Park on the north end of the parking lot in Frederic. State rep to conduct local office hours - Rep. Daire Rendon of Lake City will conduct local office hours on Friday, May 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Goodale’s Bakery, 500 Norway Street.
2nd Annual Women’s Conference is May 3-4 - The 2nd Annual Women’s Conference “Through His Eyes” will be held at the Resurrection Life Center – Mosaic Women’s Fellowship at 2640 W. M-72 in Grayling on Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m. (worship, prayer, and special feature Pam Bowman) and Saturday, May 4, at 9 a.m. (breakfast, worship, speaker Becca Vanderklok, luncheon, and Women of the Bible – Live). Ticket prices are $25 for the full conference or $20 for Saturday only. Cost includes refreshments and meals. TEFAP food distribution to be held - The quarterly TEFAP food distribution will be held on Monday, May 6, at the American Legion (106 James Street) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please bring identification showing current address.
