Women’s golf league to hold registration - The Chicks with Sticks golf league will hold registration on Monday, May 15, at 5 p.m. at the Grayling Country Club. There will be a short organizational meeting with complimentary golf to follow (cart not included). Registration fee for the league is $30. For more information call Cory Dean at (989) 390-0548. 
 
Senior Center to offer crochet classes - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will offer a beginner crochet class starting Wednesday, May 17, at 10 a.m. The six-week class will feature how to crochet a “bag lady” to hold all of your plastic bags until you need one. There is no charge to participate; however, you will need to bring a skein of variegated yarn and a size E/4 crochet hook. The class will be facilitated by Lois Durfee and is open to everyone. Artisan Village to host free concert - The AuSable Artisan Village and Dharma Records USA will present an evening with the Jazzed Because Quartet on Wednesday, May 17, from 7-9 p.m. The AuSable Artisan Village is located at 219 Michigan Avenue. The concert is open to the public and there is no charge. Donations are accepted. For more information, contact Bea Patrick at (989) 348-5995.
 
Lake association to meet - The Lake Margrethe Property Owners Association’s semi-annual membership meeting will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 9 a.m. at the Grayling Township Hall. All matters pertaining to the health and welfare of Lake Margrethe will be discussed.
 
St. Mary’s to host bake sale - St. Mary’s is having its Annual Spring Bake Sale on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
 
DHHS assistance available - DHHS assistance appointments are available at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. Diane Howland, Eligibility Specialist from Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services, will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, May 17, from 1-4 p.m. to take appointments. Howland will be available to meet with individuals to explain DHHS Assistance Programs, answer questions regarding eligibility requirements, case specific questions, and take applications for assistance. Half hour appointments are available by calling (989) 348-7123. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
 
Older Michiganians Day trip slated for May 17 - On Wednesday, May 17, join the Commission on Aging staff and other older adults from Crawford County as they head for Lansing for Older Michiganians Day. This free event takes place on the lawn of the Capitol building where older adults will have the opportunity to meet their state legislative representatives and advocate for issues impacting older Michigan residents. There will be a box lunch available. Contact Jennifer Bricker at (989) 348-7123 for information about free tickets and transportation.
