Grayling Rotary looking for item donations - Grayling Rotary is looking for item donations for its Gigantic Garage Sale event slated for June 3-4 at the Bear Archery Building (located across from Century 21 on M-72 West). Event organizers are looking for “saleable items,” boxed up and ready for pick-up. No clothing or tube TVs or “junk.” To arrange for item pick-up, call (989) 348-5474. Hours of operation for the Gigantic Garage Sale will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, and 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 4.
 
Huddle to be held at Gray Rock - A Northern Michigan Huddle will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at the Gray Rock Pub & Grub, located at 2123 Industrial Street. Next Up Huddles are a continuation of the Women’s March. The meeting will discuss how to transform the energy from the Women’s Marches into local and national action. Huddles are meant to be positive, inclusive, action-oriented, and grounded in the tradition of nonviolent resistance. All with positive attitudes are welcome.
 
Church seeks vendors for sale event - St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church is looking for vendors for its Annual Indoor Garage and Bake Sale on June 30 and July 1. To participate, contact the church at stelizabeths@frontier.com or (989) 821-9197.
 
Museum to host military tribute - The Crawford County Historical Society will host readings to honor America’s fallen military heroes at the Military Annex of the museum, located at 97 Michigan Avenue, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. Admission is free.
 
Lovells Satellite Meal slated for May 19 - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, May 19, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes baked ham, baked sweet potato, green beans, and applesauce. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure and sugar checks and bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. The Lovells Township Building is located at 8405 Twin Bridge Road, Grayling. 
 
Red Tent Tea event scheduled for May 25 - A Red Tent Tea event is slated for Thursday, May 25, at 1 p.m. at the Community of Christ worship center on Glen Road and North Down River Road. No charge. For questions, call 348-8466.
 
Library seeks prizes for reading program - The Crawford County Library is looking for donations – small toys, coupons, or gift certificates – to be used as prizes and incentives for its 2017 Summer Reading Program. The program will start on Thursday, June 15, at 3:30 p.m. and will continue each Thursday until the finale on July 20. Bring donations to the Devereaux Library located at 201 Plum Street or call (989) 348-9214 to arrange for items to be picked up.
 
Church to host Swiss Steak Dinner - Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church will host a Swiss Steak Dinner on Thursday, May 25, from 5-6:30 p.m. Ticket prices: $9/adult, $4/children (6-12). Children under six eat free. Take-outs will be available.
 
Fashion show to be held at new campus - The Grayling Promotional Association’s Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the new Kirtland College Grayling Campus in the GPA sponsored room. The event will showcase the new facility and feature fashions by local retailers. In addition to the fashion show, there will be vendors and a silent auction. A brunch will be served and a cash bar is available. Tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the event; however, tickets are limited and can be purchased for $20 at Flo’s Hallmark and Tip’n the Mitten. 
 
Church to host rummage sale event - St. John Lutheran Church will host an annual rummage sale event on Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located at 710 Spruce Street. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Christian Help Center and church youth.
 
Book Party to benefit Relay for Life - Families Against Cancer, a local Relay for Life team, is sponsoring a Book Party, but it ends on Wednesday, May 31. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life. If you need to add to your Pampered Chef or have a party, contact Rose Mary Nelson at (989) 348-2985 or rosemarynelson@frontier.com for a book and she will deliver it to you. There are many specials.
 
Grayling Branding Reveal set for May 24 - Grayling’s Project Rising Tide Committee will hold a Grayling Branding Reveal event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at the Grayling Country Club. The event will include a presentation about branding logos used to promote Grayling, entertainment by Oh Brother Big Sister, prizes, and food.
