Free drive-through COVID-19 testing offered
District Health Department #10 is offering free drive-through community testing for COVID-19 on Thursday, July 23, at Grayling High School (1135 North Old U.S. 27) from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone age 18 or older is welcome to be tested for COVID-19. Please bring picture ID. Not accepting appointments; first come, first served. Not limited to symptomatic individuals. Testing is to determine current COVID-19 status; not offering antibody testing. Test results will take 7-9 days. You will receive instructions for logging in to BioReference Laboratories Patient Portal to obtain results. You will only be contacted by DHD#10 if your results are positive for COVID-19.
AAV to host watercolor workshop
Watercolor With Lian Quan Zhen, a three-day workshop for students of all skill levels, will meet Thursday-Saturday, August 13-15, at the AuSable Artisan Village from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $285. Students can pay the full amount or make a non-refundable deposit of $50 to hold their spots with the balance due on August 1. Four to six short demos each day will lead into practice sessions. Students can bring their own lunches and snacks (a microwave is available at the gallery) or order from a local restaurant to have them delivered. Participants should be sure to review the materials list at the registration link in order to come prepared. Class offers help for caregivers
Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes help caregivers of any age take better care of themselves while caring for an elderly, special needs, or otherwise disabled friend or relative. This free six-week interactive online class will be Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. from August 6 through September 10. Baby to Toddler Closet offers curb service
The Crawford County Baby to Toddler Closet will be open for curb service only for diapers, wipes, and clothes on Thursday, August 6, from 11 a.m until 3 p.m. The church is still closed. Starting Wednesday, August 5, call (989) 745-4166 so volunteers may take your children’s size and required name, address, and phone number for Baby to Toddler Closet records. Volunteers will have a canopy outside and they will show clothing options.
