Sign up for Smart911 - The Crawford County Commission on Aging is offering another opportunity to sign up for the Smart911 Program on Wednesday, August 1, from 1-4 p.m. Smart911 is a free service available in the area to help you when you call 9-1-1. Once you’ve signed up, first responders will be aware of important information you have provided that will help them address your emergency. This information – including medical issues, current location and even pets – can help Police, Fire and EMS locate and help you. For more information call (989) 348-7123. Walk with Ease class offered - Crawford County MSU Extension is offering a free six-week Walk with Ease class. The course begins on Monday, August 6, from 7-8 a.m. The class will meet two to three times per week. Days will vary. The program will feature discussion on osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, managing stiffness and pain, tips on proper clothing and equipment, and stretching/strengthening exercises. Can/bottle drive to be held on Monday - The Crawford County “Families Against Cancer” Relay for Life Team will conduct a Can/Bottle Drive at Family Fare on Monday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cans/bottles will be sorted for you. Senior Center to host free concert - The community is invited to attend a free concert by the Dodworth Duo on Tuesday, August 7, at 6 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center. The Dodworth Duo is committed to bringing life to the songs of the 19th century – principally those of the Dodworth era (1835‑1895). Mezzo soprano Elizabeth Mitchell and classical tenor Ted Badgerow bring a variety of instruments into their music (guitar, banjo, fife, harmonica, pennywhistle) and are pleased to take period song requests from the audience. Enjoy a chicken fettuccine alfredo dinner beforehand from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dinner is a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over. The cost for those under 60 is $5. Dinner is open to the public.
