GRA to conduct Flag Football League - Grayling Recreation Authority is seeking athletes from 1st grade through 5th grade to participate in its upcoming Flag Football League. GRA is also looking for volunteer coaches for the program. Parent Meeting/Registration will be held on Tuesday, September 11, at 5 p.m. at Hanson Hills Lodge. Sheriff’s Office offers Hunter Safety Class - The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office – 200 W. Michigan Avenue – will host a two-day Hunter Safety Class on Saturday, September 15, from 8:30 a.m.to 4 p.m. and Sunday, September 16, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Students must attend both days. Participants should be at least 10 years of age and must be preregistered to attend. Upon successful completion of the program participants will receive a Michigan Hunter’s Safety Certificate. A lunch break will be held on Saturday and Sheriff Kirk Wakefield suggests that all participants bring a bag lunch and a drink. Class size is limited to 40 students. Register by calling the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office at (989) 344-3214, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. 
 
Church to host concert - The 4 One Quartet will perform at the Bear Lake Christian Church at 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 26. The church is located at 221 East Bear Lake Road. A pot luck luncheon will follow the concert.
 
Senior Center to host cornhole event - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center invites everyone to come and play cornhole. This new activity is scheduled once a month after the Birthday Dinner. This month, cornhole is being held Tuesday, August 28, at 5:45 p.m. Experts or novices are welcome to play, rain or shine. This is a free event. Enjoy a western omelet dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those 60 years of age and over dinner is a suggested donation of $3. Those under 60 the cost is $5. The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street. For questions call (989) 348-7123.
