Voter registration event to be held - Everyone is welcome to register to vote for the Nov. 7 election at Kirtland Community College’s Four Mile Road campus on Sept. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The League of Women Voters Crawford County Unit and the Crawford County Clerk will be available to register and to answer related questions. Blood Drive to be held - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program are hosting a Michigan Blood Drive on Tuesday, September 4, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone who attempts to donate will be entered to win a $100 Meier Gift Card.  Appointments are preferred by contacting 1-866-MIBLOOD (642-5663) or miblood.org. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street. 
 
Hunter education offered - The Grayling Sportsman’s Club will host DNR hunter education on September 5 and 8. Live fire. Call (989) 348-1202 to register between 6 and 9 p.m. 
 
Senior Center to host Medicare program - Medicare fraud wastes billions of dollars each year which results in higher health care costs and taxes for everyone. To help educate Medicare beneficiaries, the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center is hosting a Medicare Fraud Bingo Night on Thursday, September 6, at 5:45 p.m. Huntington Bank is sponsoring this event. Have dinner prior to the event from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. For those 60 and over dinner is a suggested donation of $3. For those under 60 the cost is $5. COA to host 50’s party - A 50’s party will be held at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on Tuesday, September 4, at 5:45 p.m. Gals grab your poodle skirt and saddle shoes and guys roll up your sleeves and jump in your classic car and enjoy some 1950’s themed fun. The evening features a prize for the best costume, a guessing game, and remembering the slogans of the time. Before the party enjoy a pork roast dinner served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $5 for those under 60 and a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over. Craft & Chat Club to meet - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center invites you to join the “easy peasy and fun” Craft & Chat Club. A time to chat with other crafters while you spend time working on your craft. Whether you knit, crochet, color, or love just to chat, you are invited to attend. The Craft & Chat Club meets twice a week at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday at the Senior Center.  Stay for lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. where lunch is a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and older and $5 for those under 60.
