Dealing with grief session available - Grief Share, which offers “help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend,” will conduct a new session on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Grayling Free Methodist Church. More aerobic drumming classes available - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center is adding more opportunities to participate in its Aerobic Drumming Class. Classes are Mondays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 3 p.m. and the new class times are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. There is a $5 charge for the 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday classes and no charge for the 10 a.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Thursday classes. Fundraiser dinner to benefit RoboVikes - The Grayling High School RoboVikes will conduct an all-you-can-eat pancake dinner fundraiser at the Grayling McDonald’s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Cost is $5 per person or $20 for family (up to six). The event will offer a look at the group’s 2017 SteamWorks Robot.
COA Satellite Meal to be held in Frederic - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Frederic Satellite Meal on Friday, Sept. 8, at 12 p.m. at the Frederic Township Hall. The lunch includes pepper steak, brown rice, stir fry vegetable, asparagus, and pineapple. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Free concert to be held at Senior Center - The community is invited to attend a free concert featuring Michael Carluccio, the “Man of a Thousand Voices,” performing music by Frank Sinatra on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 5:45 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. Carluccio has performed his “Rat Pack” style show across the country with stops at Las Vegas and the Hollywood Bowl, among many other venues. Before the concert enjoy a cranberry chicken dinner at 5 p.m. The cost of dinner is a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. DHHS assistance available - DHHS assistance appointments are available at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. Diane Howland, Eligibility Specialist from Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services, will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to take appointments. Howland will be available to meet with individuals to explain DHHS Assistance Programs, answer questions regarding eligibility requirements, case specific questions, and take applications for assistance. Half hour appointments are available by calling (989) 348-7123. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
