Wellington Farm to host car show, corn maze
Wellington Farm USA – located at 6944 South Military Road – will host an Antique Car Show on September 12. The Corona Corn Maze at Wellington Farm USA will be open on Fridays from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission to the maze is $8 per person. “There is over one mile of trails in the maze and most will spend well over an hour to solve it. The shortest possible trail through the maze is over one-half mile in length,” Wellington Farm USA representatives said.
Online workshop to focus on invasive shrubs
Huron Pines is hosting an online workshop at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, focused on data collection and reporting on invasive shrubs – Japanese barberry, glossy and common buckthorn, and autumn olive – that can be found in northern Michigan. The live one-hour workshop will be presented over Zoom and hosted by Emily Vogelgesang, environmental education coordinator at Huron Pines, and Huron Pines AmeriCorps member Jennifer Klemm. Register by September 13 by visiting huronpines.org/events. Once registered, Huron Pines will share an introductory video with important species identification information to help ensure high quality data collection and reporting. The video is required pre-work in order to attend the September 15 live workshop.
Introduction to Zoom class offered
The Crawford County Commission on Aging and MSU Extension will offer an online Introduction to Zoom class on Friday, September 18, from 1-2:30 p.m. Walk through how to register for classes, log on, and use Zoom so you can take classes online. Try out Zoom and play with its features while someone is available to talk you through any challenges. You can join in using a laptop or desktop computer, tablet, iPad, or smartphone. A call-in phone number is also available through Zoom, which functions like a conference call. Registration is required; call (989) 348-7123.
Play Bingo via Zoom
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center invites you to play bingo via Zoom with us on Monday, September 14, at 2 p.m. If you have any questions or would like to sign up email Kaitlyn at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Zoom link for the game along with your bingo cards will provided to you. Bingo cards can be printed or used on the computer.
