Sign up for Smart911 Program - The Crawford County Commission on Aging is offering another opportunity for Crawford County residents to sign up for the Smart911 Program on Wednesday, October 16, from 1-3 p.m. Smart911 is a free service available in the area to help you when you call 9-1-1. Once you have signed up, first responders will be aware of important information you have provided that will help them address your emergency. This information – including medical issues, current location and even pets – can help Police, Fire and EMS locate and help you. For more information call (989) 348-7123. Free Divorce Clinic offered in Grayling - A Free Divorce Clinic – sponsored by the 46th Circuit Court Family Division, Legal Services of Northern Michigan, Local County Bar Association, and Community Mediation Services – will be held at the Crawford County Courthouse on Thursday, October 17, at 5:30 p.m. Clinic includes free step by step directions to file for divorce and free legal answers for any questions you may have. The clinic will also be held in Grayling on December 19. A Gaylord session of the clinic – to be held at 5:30 p.m. at the United Way Building – will be conducted on November 21. Play Family Feud at Senior Center - It is time to play Spooktacular Family Feud. Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center for a game of Family & Friend Feud Halloween Edition on October 17 at 5:45 p.m. to see if you can guess the most popular answers to the survey questions; however, be careful not to strike out. The team that moves onto the Fast Money round will have a chance to win a $75 gift certificate from Grayling Restaurant. Enjoy a French dip sandwich dinner prior to the game from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dinner is $3.50 suggested donation for those 60+ and costs $5.50 for those under 60. MARSP chapter to hold fall meeting at Kirtland - The Crawford-Oscoda Chapter of MARSP (Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel) will hold its annual fall meeting on Wednesday, October 16, in the Community Room of Kirtland Community College (located at 4800 West Four-Mile Road). Shawn Petri, superintendent of the C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District, will be the featured speaker. VFW Post to host Country Breakfast - The VFW Post 4159 will host a Country Breakfast on Sunday, October 13, from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu includes homemade biscuits & gravy, eggs, hash brown potatoes, French toast, pancakes, sausage, toast, coffee or tea, and juice. Adults $8, children 12 & under $4. The Post is located across from the Roscommon Post Office. All proceeds from this event goes in support of area veterans and their families.
