Trick or Treating hours recommended
The City of Grayling Public Safety is recommending that Halloween trick or treating take place in Grayling from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 31.
Witches Brew on Brew Ave to be held
Grayling Main Street’s Hallo-Weekend in downtown Grayling will include Witches Brew on Brew Avenue on Saturday, October 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Event will include tarot card readers, mediums, and spooky delights. Various downtown restaurants will be featuring specials, including cocktails and drinks that can be taken out of the establishment under the new rules in place with Brew Avenue. Shops will be open late with special sales and events.
Trunk or Treat to be held on Halloween
Grayling Main Street and the Downtown Development Authority of Grayling will conduct Halloween Trunk or Treat in downtown Grayling (at the city parking lot off Peninsular behind Bear’s Den/Paddle Hard) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 31. Entrance will be at Peninsular. Participants can rent a parking space for $25, with a cash prize for the best decorated trunk. Library to host After School Halloween Party
Devereaux Memorial Library will host its annual After School Halloween Party at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
Free coffee, donuts for veterans
The Crawford County Veterans Coffee Hour for November 11 has been canceled. Veterans can go to Goodale’s Bakery on November 11 (Veterans Day) from 6 a.m. to noon and receive a free cup of coffee and a donut, compliments of the Crawford County Veteran Service Office. Animal Shelter to conduct open house 
The AuSable Valley Animal Shelter will conduct its annual open house at the library on Thursday, November 4, at 6 p.m.
Round Up fundraiser to benefit Help Center 
On Wednesday, October 27, through Sunday, November 7, the Grayling Family Fare will be running its Round Up fundraiser for the Crawford County Community Christian Help Center. Each time you shop at Family Fare, you will be able to round up your total or make a donation to fight hunger in the community.  All of these funds will go to the Help Center. Last year’s Round Up effort raised $2,500, Help Center officials said.
Bible Study to be held at Senior Center 
You are welcome to join Bible Study weekly at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. with Ron Larson from the Grayling Free Methodist Church. Those who are not fully vaccinated are asked to please wear a mask.
Medicare assistance available
Medicare’s Open Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7 and is the time of year when you can make certain changes to your Medicare coverage. If you need help exploring plans, call Tammy Findlay, Advocacy and Resource Coordinator at the Crawford County Commission on Aging, at 989.348.7123 for a Medicare Assistance appointment.
Senior Center to host coupon Bingo 
Everyone is invited to play Medicine Shoppe Bingo monthly at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center. Play FREE to win Medicine Shoppe coupons. November’s Medicine Shoppe Bingo will be on Thursday, November 4, at 2 p.m. For more information call Toby at 989.348.7123.
