Hospital to host Lights of Love Ceremony - You are invited to join Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital volunteers at the 31st annual Lights of Love Ceremony on Wednesday, December 4, at 5:30 p.m. Contributions made at this year’s event go toward the purchase of a new stress-test system. Dating back to 1989, this special ceremony honors and celebrates the lives of loved ones during the holiday season. Be part of the tradition by making a gift (represented by a light on the Lights of Love tree that will shine for months). The public is invited to attend the tree-lighting ceremony in the north end of Grayling Hospital’s Emergency Department lobby. Dancers from the AuSable Dance Studio will perform. Cookies and refreshments will be available in the cafeteria following the ceremony. All are welcome to take a free photo with Santa and decorate a cookie. Contact Volunteer Coordinator Jodie Peters at (989) 348-0419 or jpeters2@mhc.net with questions. Visit munsonhealthcare.org/grayling-lights-of-love to give a gift online. Donation forms also are available at Grayling Hospital.

Kirtland Garden Club to meet - The Kirtland Garden Club, a local group, will meet at the Houghton Lake Public Library on Monday, November 18, at 1:15 p.m. This month’s speaker will be Molly Francis on the topic of Antique Apple Trees at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. She will be speaking about a project that she is working on as a part of her volunteer hours as a new master gardener through MSU Extension. The National Park Service discovered many varieties of antique apple trees on various properties in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, and the park decided to graft the old trees onto rootstock so the old varieties are not lost. Francis will be discussing her work on this project. This event is open to the public. Please RSVP to Nancy at (989) 422-6017.
