Christmas carol event to be held - Christmas carols will be ringing from the walls of the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center on Tuesday, December 3, at 5:45 p.m. This free Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long will be led by Sara Smaling. This event is open to the public. A chicken fettucini alfredo dinner will be served before the concert from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Suggested donation for seniors ages 60+ is $3.50. The cost for those under 60 is $5.75 per person. The Commission on Aging is located at 308 Lawndale Street. If you have any questions, call the Senior Center at 348-7123.
 
Santa Train to arrive in Grayling - The Lake State Railway Santa Train 2019 is scheduled to arrive in Grayling at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, at the Grayling Depot. Board the train to meet Santa, take pictures, and share your Christmas wish list. Event is free to attend. Donations will be accepted for Toys for Tots (cash, or new and unwrapped toys). The Crawford County Historical Museum will be open and serving refreshments from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
 
Linen sale to be held at hospital - The Hospital Auxiliary will conduct a linen sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 3 at the hospital’s Milltown Room.
 
Cancer support group to meet - A cancer support group will meet at the Grayling Baptist Church (705 Madsen Street) on Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m. For more information, contact Cathy Ludwig at (989) 348-8684.
 
Help decorate Senior Center for Christmas - Get into the spirit of Christmas by helping the Commission on Aging and Senior Center decorate for the holiday. Everyone is invited to help with the Hanging of the Greens on Friday, December 6, starting at 9:30 a.m. There will be plenty of hot chocolate available and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch is a suggested $3.50 donation for those ages 60+ and cost of $5.75 for those under 60.
 
Veterans can get ride to VA hospital - Veterans living in Crawford, Kalkaska, Roscommon, Otsego, or Ogemaw counties can arrange to be picked up along the I-75 corridor for a ride to the VA hospital by a Disabled American Veterans van. Call the Veterans Service Office at (989) 344-3861.
