Church to host Christmas concert - Bear Lake Christian Church (221 E. Bear Lake Road/corner of M-72) will host “Come Celebrate CHRISTmas” – featuring a live performance by The Walkers – on Sunday, December 8, at 10 a.m.
Christmas Dinner to be held at Senior Center - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center’s Community Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 12, from 4-6 p.m. Meal will feature sliced roast beef, au gratin bacon potatoes, garlic herb broccoli, Malibu fruit salad, and red velvet cake. The cost of the dinner is $5.75 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 years of age or older. Dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. MSUE Tai Chi Program now enrolling - Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention is a program to improve health and wellness. This free program will run for 10 weeks from January 7 through March 11 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. at the Frederic Township Hall. Registration is required and these classes fill up fast so call Jamie at (989) 344-3264 ext. 0 to sign up. The lessons each week build on each other to learn the entire routine. Tai Chi is a graceful, low impact form of exercise that can improve balance, strength, mobility, and quality of life. It can also reduce stress, risk of falls, and help manage pain from arthritis. All exercises can be done standing or seated. 
American Legion Auxiliary to meet - The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Tuesday, December 10. The group meets once a month on the second Tuesday of each month.
Coffee hour for veterans to be held - The Crawford County Veteran’s Service Office will be hosting a coffee hour on the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting will take place at the American Legion Post #106 in Grayling on December 12 from 9-10 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided free of charge.  This is an event for veterans to meet and talk with each other. It will be held in a social setting with no formal speeches or agenda. All veterans are welcome whether they served in peacetime or wartime. VFW Post to host Country Breakfast - Bring your family, neighbors, and friends to the VFW Post 4159 Country Breakfast on Sunday, December 8, from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu includes homemade biscuits & gravy, eggs, hash brown potatoes, French toast, pancakes, sausage, toast, coffee or tea, and juice. Adults $8, children 12 & under $4. VFW Post 4159 is located across from the Roscommon Post Office. All proceeds from this event will support area veterans and their families.
Restoration Advisory Board to meet - Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center’s Restoration Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Frederic Township Hall (6470 Manistee Street). The Restoration Advisory Board is intended to improve public knowledge and participation by providing a forum for sharing information and involving the community in the restoration decision-making process. This meeting will include a discussion of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.
