Christmas Cookie Sale to be held - The St. Mary’s Family Center (707 Spruce Street) will host a Christmas Cookie Sale on Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
AAU Basketball Tryout to be held at GMS - Boys basketball players currently in the 8th grade are invited to try out for Parallel 45’s travel team from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, at Grayling Middle School. Winter Fire Safety presentation offered - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will host a breakfast presentation on Tuesday, December 17, at 9 a.m. The topic will be Winter Fire Safety, featuring Chief Russ Strohpaul of the Grayling Department of Public Safety. Event will offer information regarding smoke detectors, structure safety, evacuation, accountability, and fire safety. Breakfast includes an omelet station, hash browns, muffins, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. Donations are appreciated. Church to host Christmas Program - The Grayling Assembly of God Church will host its Christmas Program at 6 p.m. on December 15.
CASD offers teacher certification presentation - The Crawford AuSable School District (CASD) is hosting an informational session for individuals interested in an alternative route to Michigan Teacher Certification. The alternative route to teacher certification is a non-traditional preparation program designed for individuals who hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and are seeking to complete an expedited teacher preparation program while employed as a teacher under an Interim Teaching Certificate. Justin Gluesing, CASD Superintendent, will present on Wednesday, December 18, at 6 p.m. in the Grayling High School Media Center. The presentation will last less than one hour. There will be an earlier session beginning at 5 p.m. for currently licensed teachers interested in alternative pathways for adding endorsements to an existing certificate.
Free Divorce Clinic offered in Grayling - A Free Divorce Clinic – sponsored by the 46th Circuit Court Family Division, Legal Services of Northern Michigan, Local County Bar Association, and Community Mediation Services – will be held at the Crawford County Courthouse on Thursday, December 19, at 5:30 p.m. Clinic includes free step by step directions to file for divorce and free legal answers for any questions you may have. Free workshop offers help to local companies - Kirtland Community College and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center invite local companies to a free workshop to learn how to create employee training plans at Kirtland’s Grayling campus on Wednesday, December 18, from 12:30-2 p.m. Attendees will be given a custom planning template and will discover how to build a professional development plan that can boost their company’s productivity. Free concert to be held at Artisan Village - The Artisan Village and Dharma Records USA will bring back the MotorCity Memories Band on Thursday, December 12, from 7-9 p.m. Come out and be ready for an evening of musical memories. Church to host Free Christmas Concert - Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church will host a Free Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 15, at 5 p.m. Refreshments will follow. Everyone is invited to celebrate the peace, hope, joy, and love of Christmas with music by the Chancel Choir, Handbells and Praise Band. Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church is located at 400 Michigan Avenue.
