Senior Center to host chair volleyball - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will resume offering chair volleyball starting Monday, Jan. 9, at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to play and no experience is necessary. Chair volleyball is played with six players seated in chairs (or wheelchairs) on each side of a net using a beach ball instead of a volleyball. Energy conservation is topic for presentation - The Crawford County Commission on Aging will present Dial Down/Bundle Up – a presentation from Gary Lamberg of TrueNorth Community Services that will discuss how to be more comfortable in the home while conserving energy – on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, located at 308 Lawndale Street in Grayling. U.S. government energy ratings (Energy Star) will also be discussed. Dinner before the presentation will which include BBQ chicken, baked potato, stewed tomatoes, and fresh pears. The cost is a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over and a $5 charge for those under 60. For more information, contact Helen Nolan at (989) 348-7123.
COA offers Fitness After Fifty event - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center is now offering Fitness After Fifty – free fitness classes for older adults – on Monday through Friday in 2017. The event will offer golden toners, line dancing, clogging, Zumba, pickleball, chair volleyball, and aerobic drumming. Schedules are available at the Senior Center (308 Lawndale Street in Grayling).
