Grayling Main Street kicked off its Envelope Raffle on Friday, September 18, in the Main Street Parklet space between Ron’s Fly Shop and The Hairstation to raise money to support Downtown Grayling programming.
Grayling Main Street was available from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday to talk to locals about the accessibility of downtown, projects it has been working on during quarantine (like a new parklet permit), guidelines for businesses, the Buy Local BINGO, and promoting the Envelope Fundraiser.
The unique fundraiser begins with 144 envelopes. Each envelope is priced by number; for example, envelope #1 is $1 and envelope #2 is $2. Each envelope will be sold only once. When you purchase an envelope you receive Buy Local BINGO cards equal to the number of digits on the envelope. Envelope #5 has one Buy Local BINGO card, envelope #10 has two Buy Local BINGO cards, and envelope #100 has three Buy Local BINGO cards, which can be played anytime before the end of 2020, and you will also receive entries to the raffle equal to the number on the envelope, so envelope #25 gets 25 entries into the raffle, according Rae Gosling, Main Street Director.
“All funds raised during this fundraiser are to support the Downtown Grayling programming, including business and property development efforts, coordinating public event programming to promote our place, enhancing the physical environment of Downtown Grayling, and administrative costs for staff and volunteers. Our goal is to raise $10,000 dollars,” said Gosling.
Prizes are being secured by a dedicated raffle committee, and as they are collected they shall be announced and shared via Facebook, email, and the Grayling Main Street website. Envelopes can be purchased by calling (989) 390-7689, messaging the Grayling Main Street Facebook, or stopping by Grayling City Hall.
