Arthur William Vogel, age 85, of Grayling formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, died Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Lighthouse of Roscommon.
Art was born September 17, 1933 in Saginaw to William and Lena Kathleen (Difell) Vogel. He married Doris Ann Klemish October 4, 1952 in Saginaw.
Art enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he was known as “Papa” or “Grandpa Art Art.”
He loved many outdoor activities, which included camping, fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, gardening, and playing with remote cars just to name a few.
Art’s family will always remember him for being a “Jack-of-all Trades, Master of All.” He was able to build, do electrical, plumbing and fix just about anything.
Art owned Vogel’s Garage & Sales in Saginaw and Tees N’ Such R Us in Grayling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 66 years; children, Bonnie (Gordon Eden) Vogel of Grayling, David (Elizabeth Zuker) Vogel of Roscommon, Diane (Rev. David) Howard of Saginaw; grandchildren, Nikki (Jason) Trudeau, Rusty (Jean) Strohpaul, Amanda (Chris Emery) Zuker, Andrea Vogel, Vanessa (Jeremy Jurewicz) Vogel, Sean (Kim) Vogel, Ryan (Sarah) Vogel, David II (Tania) Howard, Dr. Brian (Lauren Howard), Jessica (Paul Milioto) Howard, 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jane Ross; brother-in-law, Daniel Klemish; several nieces and nephews and many many friends.
Per his wishes, a private family gathering and cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions can be made in Art’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
