Kim Louis Lovely
Kim Louis Lovely, surrounded by family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018, at his home in Grayling.
He was born on August 28, 1949, to Leo and Edith (Golnick) Lovely.
Raised in Grayling, he graduated from GHS in 1967.
Kim enlisted in the Army after high school and then returned to Grayling where he worked as custodian at the Grayling Elementary School for several years.
He was a great carpenter, bartender, and worked most of his life in construction both in Grayling and Lawton, Oklahoma.
Kim liked to hunt, and to fly-fish on the East Branch. He enjoyed bowling and card parties at home with friends. Being a good cook, during hunting season he became the cook at the hunting cabin. Over the last few years he enjoyed teaching his granddaughter to cook.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents; a baby daughter, Shannon; and sister, Julie Ward of Poway, California.
He is survived by his wife, Mini (Mary); five children,Kimberly, Todd, Amy Jo, Nicolas, and Darcie and a step-son, Brian; five grandchildren, Marshall, Haileejane, Charlie, Leah and Eli; three step-grandchildren, Haley, Lindsey, and Robert; brothers, Michael (Kathy) , Dave (Carol); sisters, Mary Ruth (Allen) Lowe and Marcia (David) Etters; a multitude of nephews and nieces; and several close, special, and faithful friends.
His unique sense of humor will be missed by all!
A friends and family gathering/memorial is planned for early summer.
