Ruth A. Funck
Ruth A. Funck, a longtime resident of Grayling, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2019 in her home which she shared with her daughter, Linda Weiman. She was surrounded by her loving family when she went home to meet her savior.
She was born on April 14, 1929 in Cadillac, Michigan to Glen and Freida (Hobbins) Whaley.
Ruth was the beloved mother of Steven Funck (Deborah), Nancy Persing (and the late Steve), David Funck, and Linda Weiman (William).
Preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband Edwin Roy Funck, and brother Earl Whaley.
She is survived by her brother, Ray Whaley (Bonnie), sister-in-law Loretta Whaley, four children, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a loving extended family.
Ruth was a lifelong Detroit Tiger fan, an avid reader, and loved playing cards with her family.
Ruth was well known for her green thumb and love of flowers, especially African Violets. She was especially proud of her career as a laboratory technician at Grayling Mercy Hospital. She was also a very active member of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church for many decades.
The funeral service was held at MacDonald’s Funeral Home in Howell, Michigan.
