Vernon Floyd Ritenburgh, 90, of Caledonia, passed away on November 21, 2019. He was born on November 25, 1928, in Grand Blanc, Michigan to the late Floyd Burton and Alvena Mary (Krage) Ritenburgh. Vernon married Ilene Goodall on August 13, 1950 in Grayling, Michigan. They have been married for 69 years.
He served in the US Army for two years as a paratrooper. Vernon worked at General Motors for 30 years and retired in 1976. He was a member of UAW Local # 730.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and bowling.
Survived by his wife, Ilene Ritenburgh; children, Gayle (Al) Peterson of Grand Rapids, Vernon (Rosetta) Ritenburgh of Grand Rapids, Debra Ritenburgh of Grand Rapids, Terri Manert of Grand Rapids, and Brenda (Rick) Kraima of Wayland; sister, Norma (Glenn) Cotton of Kalkaska; sister-in-law, Margaret Ritenburgh of Tucson, Arizona and Traverse City, Michigan.
Vernon has also been blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Yvonne Ritenburgh; brothers, Arnold, Gerald, and Richard Ritenburgh; and sister-in-law, Donna Jean Ritenburgh.
Funeral services were held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, Michigan on Monday, November 25, 2019.
Interment will be in spring of 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, Michigan.
