Three Vikings earn spots in the state finals for track and field
Three Grayling High School track and field athletes qualified for the state finals with their performances at the Region 30-3 meet at Charlevoix on Friday.
Alainna Moffit advanced to the state finals in the 400m dash and the 800m run. She finished 3rd in the 400m event with a time of 1:01.23. She was 2nd in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.97.
Eli Jackson qualified for the state finals in shot put, winning the event at regionals with a throw of 45’0”.
State qualifier Max Halstead took 3rd place in the long jump with a leap of 20’2.25”.
All three athletes recently set school records in their events.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 State Finals will be held at Jenison High School on Saturday, June 1.
