DHHS assistance available at Senior Center - Diane Howland, Eligibility Specialist from the Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), will be at the Crawford County Commission on Aging Senior Center on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to take DHHS assistance appointments. Howland will be available to meet with individuals to explain DHHS assistance programs, answer questions regarding eligibility requirements, and take applications for assistance. Half hour appointments are available by calling (989) 348-7123. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale St. in Grayling.
Help Center’s annual meeting slated for Jan. 9 - The annual meeting of the Crawford County Christian Help Center will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at the Nature Trail Center.
COA Satellite Meal to be held in Frederic - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Frederic Satellite Meal on Friday, Jan. 13, at noon at the Frederic Township Hall. The lunch includes potato crunch pollock, red skin potato, California vegetable blend, and applesauce. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure and sugar checks and bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. The Frederic Township Hall is located at 6470 Manistee, Frederic.  
Live concert to be held at Senior Center - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will host a live concert with Daniel House on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 5:45 p.m. Community members are welcome. House, a local musician, plays finger style guitar, mandolin, and mountain dulcimer arrangements.  There will be no charge or registration for this concert; however, donations are accepted. Free flower arranging classes available - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will resume offering Free Flower Arranging classes starting Monday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to make beautiful flower arrangements and more. All supplies will be furnished; however, please bring your own scissors and wire cutters, if you have them. Each class will last about an hour. It’s free and open to everyone. The class will be facilitated by Nancy MacDonald. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street. For more information, call Helen Nolan at (989) 348-7123.
