Fred Bear Day set for March 4-5
The Fifth Annual Fred Bear Day in Grayling is slated for March 4-5. Fred Bear Day will include a Sportsman Buy, Sale, Trade Show at the Grayling Ramada Inn from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and a Pre-Glow Get Together at Bear’s Den Pizzeria at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 4. On Saturday, March 5, a 21 Whistling Arrow Salute will be held at the old Bear Archery grounds located between the Crawford County Building and M-93/M-72 West (registration at 11 a.m., shoot at 12 p.m.). A luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at the Ramada Inn, where the Sportsman Buy, Sale, Trade Show will resume. At 2 p.m. the event will feature guest speakers and door prizes.
GHS Players to present musical
The Grayling High School Players will present “Seussical” on March 11 and 12 at 6:30 p.m. and March 13 at 2 p.m. Based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Online presale tickets are $5 for students/senior citizens and $10 for adults. At the door tickets are $7 for students/senior citizens and $12 for adults. Chronic condition workshop offered
Chronic Disease PATH is a free six-week, self-management online MSU Extension workshop designed for people living with chronic conditions. Family members, friends, and caregivers are also encouraged to attend the workshop. This is a live class via Zoom. Workshop will be held on Tuesdays from March 1 through April 5 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is required. Registration closes March 7. MSUE offers sleep education program
MSU Extension’s Sleep Education for Everyone Program is a live class via Zoom. There is no cost for the workshop. Each session is designed to last about 30 minutes. Each module includes a short 2-3-minute educational video designed to deliver key concepts. The rest of the time is spent discussing the topics, brainstorming solutions to possible obstacles to improving sleep, and goal setting. Senior Center to host Pickleball
The Crawford County Commission on Aging is hosting Pickleball at its new Senior Center location just east of Grayling on M-72. Pickleball courts will be open Monday and Tuesday each week from 9-11 a.m. All are welcome to play, whether you are new to the sport or are already experienced. COA offers line dancing
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will be hosting Line Dancing on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. at its new Senior Center location just east of Grayling on M-72. Line Dancing is a low-impact cardiovascular exercise with choreographed steps that improve balance, flexibility, and motor coordination. Walking Group to begin
Meet and walk together with the Commission on Aging Indoor Walking Group starting Monday, March 7, from 10-11 a.m. at Kirtland’s new gym on Four Mile Road.
