COA offers Medicare Zoom presentation
Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging on Wednesday, March 23, at 11 a.m. via Zoom for a presentation that will help demystify the issues surrounding Medicare. Tammy Findlay, Advocacy & Resource Coordinator, will discuss the various parts of Medicare including what is covered or not covered, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plans, and how Medicare recipients who have low income can get assistance paying for Prescription Drug Plans and the Medicare Part B premium. Senior Center offers Foot Care Clinic
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center offers a Foot Care Clinic the fourth Monday of every month from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are provided by Comfort Keepers where a nurse will soak the feet, trim and file toenails, lotion feet, provide foot care tips, and inspect feet for injury and circulation. The cost of the service is $25. Please bring your own towels (two) and a foot basin to soak feet. The Foot Clinic takes place the Crawford County Commission on Aging 308 Lawndale. Garden Club to host Native Plants Workshop
The Kirtland Garden Club will host “Native Plants Workshop: Right Plant, Right Place” on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Houghton Lake Public Library. Patricia Osburn, from the Otsego Conservation District in Gaylord, will be the guest speaker. Patricia has been the Otsego Conservation District Manager for over 27 years and has been managing the Otsego Conservation District, Native Plant Nursery for over 12 years. During this workshop you will learn the characteristics of native plants and information on how to landscape with native plants by incorporating a number of different gardens such as butterfly, shade, riparian, pollinator, and rain gardens into your landscape. Auditions for AAV play to be held
Auditions for “Steel Magnolias,” the next AuSable Artisan Village Community Theatre play, will be held on Wednesday, March 16, at the AAV gallery, located at 219 Michigan Avenue in downtown Grayling, at 7 p.m. There are roles for six women. Rehearsals, held three times a week, will run from March 28 through May 5, and the play will be presented on May 6-8. There are also openings for crew members. Details are available at artisanvillage.org.
