Registration open for golf outing
Registration is now open for the Putt’n Fore Pets Golf Outing to benefit the AuSable Valley Animal Shelter. Cost to participate is $240 for a four-person team (includes golf and dinner). Register by April 15 and save $25. The Putt’n Fore Pets Golf Outing will be held at the Grayling Country Club on Saturday, June 11. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the event’s shotgun start is slated for 10 a.m. Register at www.ausablevalleyanimalshelter.org. Psychic Fair to benefit veterans
The 2nd Annual Psychic Fair to benefit Crawford County veterans will be held at the American Legion Hall on Saturday, April 16, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry fee is $5.
Hanson Hills to host Easter Egg Hunt
Grayling Recreation Authority will present its Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 16, at Hanson Hills Recreation Area. Starts at 10 a.m. For children age 10 and under only, there are three areas to search (ages 8-10, ages 5-7, ages 4 and under). This free event will feature basket raffles, coloring sheets, thousands of filled eggs, and prizes. Bring your cameras; Whiskers the Easter Bunny will be present for photos.
Spring Vendor and Craft Show to be held
The Spring Vendor and Craft Show will be held on April 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Abundant Life Tabernacle (211 Shellenbarger Street). Table space by donation. Indoor space is limited. One vendor per company on a first come basis.
Alzheimer’s support group available
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter, offers a support group for friends and caregivers of people who have Alzheimer’s or other related dementias. This support group is designed to provide an outlet for caregivers to talk, share, get support, learn coping skills, and get education about these dementias. Conducted by trained facilitator Sherry Haag, meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month at the Brook of Grayling, 503 Rose Street at 11 a.m. There is no charge to attend this group. If you are unable to leave your loved one alone, Respite Care services are available by contacting the Commission on Aging at 989.348.7123.
