Independence Day parade to be held July 4
Grayling Main Street – in partnership with Camp Grayling and the local VFW – will conduct the City of Grayling 4th of July Parade on Tuesday, July 4, at 11 a.m. on Michigan Avenue.
Fire Department to host Open House
The Grayling Fire Department will host its 1st Annual Open House from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, at the fire station (located next to city hall). Visitors can view the fire station and the equipment and meet firefighters. Hot dogs, potato chips, and drinks will be available.
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification offered
First Aid, CPR & AED Certification class will be offered on July 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Senior Center (308 Lawndale). Taught by the certified American Heart Association Instructor, Dana Swander, Paramedic & Captain of the Frederic Fire Department. The AHA Certification and Class Fee is $40. Blood drive to be held
A Blood Drive will be held at Mount Hope Lutheran Church (905 N I-75 Business Loop) on Wednesday, July 5, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Coupons available through Project Fresh
Senior Project Fresh will offer $25 in coupons starting in July. Coupon distribution will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. If you feel you qualify and would like to participate, please attend one of the following dates and times at the COA’s Grayling Senior Center (308 Lawndale Street): Wednesday, July 5, 10 a.m.; Tuesday, July 11, 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, July 19, 10 a.m.; Monday, August 7, 10 a.m. Must be a Crawford County resident over the age of 60 with income below $2,248 per month for a single household or $3,040 per month for a two-person household. Senior Center to host Patriotic Sing-Along
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will be hosting a Patriotic Sing-Along on Monday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at the Senior Center (308 Lawndale Street). Come celebrate America’s birthday and independence with music and song. Led by Maze Stephan. The sing-along is free of charge and open to the public. After the sing-along, please stay for lunch. Meal will include beef goulash, carrots, green beans, and applesauce. The cost of the dinner is $6.50 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 and over.
