Church to host Ice Cream Social

Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church will host an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social on the lawn of the church (400 E. Michigan Avenue) on Saturday, July 29, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Vanilla ice cream with an option for chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and cookie. Cost is $5. Everyone welcome.

 

Car Show, Cruise Night to be held

The 2023 AuSable River Festival Classic Car and Truck Show will be held on Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Michigan Avenue. Cruise Night – a precursor to the Classic Car and Truck Show – will be held on Friday, July 21 (5:30 p.m. social period at Northstar Auto Wash, 7 p.m. cruise begins).

 

Kids Day slated for Tuesday

The 2023 AuSable River Festival Kids Day will be held on Tuesday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city park. The theme of this year’s Kids Day event is “Hawaiian Luau.” A Rock and Rest station will be available for parents at the city park Nature Center building during the event.

 

Senior Center to host BBQ lunch

The Senior Center’s Nutrition Manager, Kate Moshier, wants your opinion on four new BBQ flavors. During lunch on Thursday, July 27, the Senior Center will have BBQ chicken for lunch and samples of four new BBQ sauce flavors. Rate these new flavors, and vote for your favorites. The most popular new BBQ flavor will be added to the Senior Center’s fall menu. Lunch will include BBQ chicken, fried cabbage w/bacon, baked beans, and grapes. The cost of the lunch is $6.50 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 years of age or older.

 

Birthday Lunch to be held

The Senior Center will offer Birthday Lunch on Tuesday, July 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to celebrate all the birthdays for people in July. Eat lunch at 11:30 a.m. and stay for Goodale’s Bakery Birthday Cake and ice cream. This meal is dine-in only. The cost of the lunch is $6.50 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 years of age or older.
