Camp Grayling to host 5K

Camp Grayling will host a Northern Strike 5K Run/Walk/Ruck on Sunday, August 6, at 10 a.m. Event will raise money for the USO, Camp Grayling WARP fund, and NGAM Scholarship for Leadership & Service. Entry fee is $40 or $25 for students/soldiers/veterans. Prizes for the top finishers and most patriotic. Participants must pre-register at www.ngam.org/grayling-5k

 

Sellers can register for Junque in the Trunk

The Grayling Promotional Association is accepting applications for sellers for the 2023 Junque in the Trunk garage sale event slated for Saturday, September 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grayling Tractor Supply parking lot. Applications are available at the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce (234 Michigan Avenue).

 

Register for forest management workshop

Join the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Michigan State University Extension from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, August 11, at Kirtland Community College in Grayling for a one-day introductory workshop that will share the basics of forest management. Forest resource professionals will discuss forest management options in between field trips to the AJD Sawmill and the Arauco particleboard plant. A variety of forestry experts, consultants, and service providers will give short presentations about their work and be available for questions throughout the day. The workshop cost is $10; a light breakfast and lunch are included. Register online through Michigan State University Extension by August 7 to reserve your spot. Questions?
