Senior Center to host Birthday Lunch
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center would like to invite you to a monthly Birthday Lunch on Tuesday, August 30, to celebrate the current month’s birthdays. Everyone is invited to celebrate with lunch plus cake and ice cream for dine in guests only.  Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Suggested donation for those age 60+ is $3.50 and price for those under 60 is $6.  
 
Mindfulness program available
Stress Less With Mindfulness introduces participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness, with a goal of reducing stress. The program covers mindful breathing, mindful eating, physical processes in the brain and body, and mindful laughter. Stress Less with Mindfulness is a program authored by West Virginia Extension. This series will be available over Zoom September 8, 15, & 22 (no session September 29), October 6, 13 & 20 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Instructions on Zoom software and setup will be sent in the confirmation email. Sleep education program offered
Sleep Education for Everyone Program is available September 8, 15, 22 (no session September 29), October 6, 13 & 20, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. online via Zoom. Each session is designed to last about 30 minutes. Each module includes a short educational video designed to deliver key concepts. The rest of the time is spent discussing the topics, brainstorming solutions to possible obstacles to improving sleep and goal setting. There is no cost for the workshop. Pain management program available
Pain PATH is a self-management program that will not conflict with your existing pain management programs or treatment. Instead, it will give you the skills to coordinate all the things needed to manage your health and pain and help you keep active. Workshops 2½ hours for a six-week period. Veteran rides available
Are you a Crawford County Veteran with a scheduled VA medical appointment and need a ride? The Crawford County Veteran Service Office can help. The Crawford County Veterans Service Office can transport Crawford County veterans to scheduled VA medical appointments.  Call 989.344.3861 to schedule a ride or for more information.
