Buildings demolished to create space for new EZ Mart facility

Structures – the vacant Cedar Motel and a former auto repair shop – removed at corner of Lake Street and I-75 Business Loop
Three buildings are being demolished at the corner of Lake Street and the I-75 Business Loop to make room for the construction of a new EZ Mart convenience store/gas station.
Demolition started last week. As of Monday, September 19, crews had demolished the Cedar Motel and the building next to it that was formerly an automobile repair facility. The existing EZ Mart structure was still standing as of Monday, September 19, but it was also slated for demolition, according to City of Grayling officials.
Erich Podjaske, Grayling City Manager, said the new EZ Mart facility will be a convenience store of approximately 5,000 square feet in size, and four new gas pumps will be installed.
Podjaske said construction is expected to start soon after the demolition process.
