Hella W. Savina, (Annis), 92, died at her home, in Gaylord, Michigan, on July 30, 2020.
She was born in Frankfort, Germany, on February 6, 1928, to Emil and Sophie Miesel. Hella was married to Alva C. Annis for thirty-two years, and later to Raymond Savina, for 27 years.
Hella came to America when she was 20 years old and lived most of her life in Grayling, where she worked for the Bear Archery Co. for 32 years. She also lived in Rogers City and moved to Gaylord in the mid-1980s.
Hella was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and loved to knit, crochet, bake and cook. She volunteered with hospice and enjoyed her work and taking leisurely walks.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Annis of Grayling, Arthur Annis of Grayling; step-children, Julie (Carmen) Auriemma of Gaylord, Laura (David) Grossman of Roger City, Michael (Luz Maria) Savina of Illinois, Claire (Glen) Momrik of Posen, John Savina of Whitmore Lake, Diana (Corey) Ghiata of Alpena; sisters, Elfriede Gauthier of Grayling, and Inge Woykiewicz of Colorado; grandchildren, Nichele Bolender, Kirk Annis, Kevin Annis, David Annis Jr., Ashley Annis, Tylor Annis, Angela Annis, Lisa Annis, and Stacy Annis; and great-grandchildren, Kaden Annis, Xavier Annis, Dastian Annis, Jade Annis, and David Lee Annis.
Hella was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Savina, in 2002; and son David E. (Lise) Annis of Gaylord in 2016.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Polzin will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan in Hella’s name.
