Kathy Ridgely

In Loving Memory:
With love, peace, and gratitude, we announce the passing of our mother, Kathy Dee Ridgely. Kathy died at the age of 81 on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona.
After a distinguished career as a substance abuse counselor and case manager for the Pomona Valley Hospital, Betty Ford Center, and administrator of the Clearview Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Recovery Program at Loma Linda University, Kathy and her husband Allen Ridgely retired to Northern Michigan, where they enjoyed life along the Manistee River.
Born in Texas and the only child of TWA’s Captain Raymond Rowe and Marjorie (Youngs) Rowe, Kathy is survived by three wonderful daughters who graced her with seven charming grandchildren and four beautiful great-grandchildren.
An artist and nature lover, Kathy decoupaged, painted, crocheted, and crafted with dried flowers and findings she collected among the forests of her beloved Norway Pines. She will be remembered lovingly for her beautiful gardens, easy smile, business savvy, and eclectic style.
The family would like to thank the Great Heart Adult Assisted Living Home staff for their gentle care, understanding, and compassion.
Per Kathy’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. There will be a small graveside service for immediate family members only.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Hartwick Pines State Park in Grayling, Michigan.
