Lucille Smith, 97, of Roscommon, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 4, 2020.
Lucille was born to Rupert and Eva (Measures) Arnold on February 17, 1923 in Ogden Center, Michigan.
Lucille enjoyed spending time in Northern Michigan looking at her stretch of the river. She spent many years making porcelain dolls, hand painting China, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was a member of the Cheerful Givers Club of Lovells, Michigan. She was a "Jitterbug" dancing champion in the 30's and 40's at the Wamplers Lake Pavilion. She was a nanny to Elizabeth & Anne Fight for many years.
Lucille is survived by children, April (Mike) Somes of Nashville, Michigan, John (Karen) Smith of Sand Lake, Michigan, Robert (Ernest Etheridge) Smith of Anderson, South Carolina, and Lynne Smith of Roscommon, Michigan; grandchildren, Sherry (Monty Opsal) Somes, Paula (Matt) Homann, Shane (Karen) Smith, Daniel Smith, and Sara Smith; great-grandchildren, Colton, Kali, Jackson, Ashlynne, and Shanna; two nieces Barbara Jardno and Diane Jardno; granddogs Ellie and Brubeck; and her favorite character, Larry Porta and wife Becky Porta. Lucille is preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Jack W. Smith Jr., sister, Edna Jardno, and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Lucille's Life will follow her cremation in the early summer 2021 at Lovells Community Chapel in Lovells, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lucille to Cheerful Givers Club of Lovells, Ausable Valley Animal Shelter, or Lovells Community Chapel.
